Last weekend, our female Tok basketball team placed first in the Ninilchik tournament, while our male team placed last, unfortunately. Upon interview, the teams had a plethora of comments regarding their performance and the trip experience itself.
Cheyanne Hipp, one of the girl basketball players, had fun on the trip and even went swimming with her team. She does not accept her performance saying how she could’ve done better and still needs to improve on everything. She does agree that the performance of the team is good. After Cheyanne was interviewed, she asked Vaughn Arnold, one of the boy's basketball team, if he thinks the boys are going to win against Effie and Nenana who the boys are going to play against, Vaughn said no but he thinks that he is going to do good.
Ally Demit, one of the girl basketball players, Said how she had fun on the trip even commenting how she swam and almost drowned and laughed while saying this. She accepts how she did well at the tournament, and says how the team did a good job also.
Lucas Hipp, one of the boys' basketball players, also had fun on the trip since he swam and played games. He agrees that he did well at the tournament but just says he did alright. Lucas says he still needs to improve with his boxing out and shooting in games. He is not happy with his team's placement since they got last place.
Tenyelle Gunter, one of the girl basketball players, says how she had very fun hanging out with her team and playing ball. Tenyelle commented, discussing how she believes she did well at basketball in some parts and adding on how she needs to improve at her ball handling. She thinks the team did well since they won first place, but the team should practice their layups since that is the most notable thing she sees that needs improvement.
The Tok boys lost and the Tok girls won the tournament. There will be news about the Effie and Nenana games next week.
