Hokey Hockey

The weekend of the 18th was quite unfavorable for The Alaska Heat 18u hockey team. They had their President's Day tournament that weekend. They had recently lost one of their players right before due to injury and were worried about how the team would do. Their first game was on Friday against the Mat-Su Eagles. The team did surprisingly well and tied the game 1-1. After having a game as such, the team was hoping to have a good tournament, though during the first game the team had lost another player due to having 4 penalties in a game. The second game, however, was not necessarily a blowout, but they still lost by quite a few points, and that is how the tournament went with the rest of the games.

The team ended up placing 8th out of 8 teams, which may sound bad, but they still worked hard with what they were given. The whole team attended the championship game of Homer vs Juneau, it was an exciting game and very fast-moving.

This tournament might not have been in the Heat's favor but I can guarantee that next weekend (11-13) they will work hard and show everyone what they can do at State!

Let's go Heat! Feel the burnola!
