Cordova/Valdez delay trip

Writer's picture: Vaughn ArnoldVaughn Arnold

On January 9th, the Tok basketball teams for both boys and girls went to Cordova, but had to make a quick getaway out of Cordova because of weather. The teams were stuck in Valdez due to avalanche warnings. Both boys and girls Tok basketball teams went to Cordova.

Lucas Hipp, one of the boys’ basketball players, thought it was pretty nice because he could hangout with the team and his girlfriend, even though they lost the games. Lucas got tired of the delay in Valdez and just wanted to go home and play games and sleep in his own bed. Lucas liked his game but still thought he could've done better.

Chairo Espinosa, one of the basketball players, said about the Cordova/Valdez delay: “It was fun 10/10.” Chairo thought that the trip was fun but not fun at the same time. He did do some homework. All Chairo did was play basketball, play games, eat, and sleep. He didn't like the games because he “got blown out,” he said.

Cheyanne Hipp, one of the girl basketball players, liked the trip, except the getting stuck part. She got tired of the trip because of the delay and wanted to go to school. She did some work in Valdez. She thought the games were good because it helped her figure out more things in the games. She liked the ferry ride…until she got nauseous.

Ally Demit, one of the basketball players, said that the trip was good because of “everything.” She played ball tag and basketball on the trip, even in Valdez. She liked the games because they didn't get blown out. She likes the ferry because she had never gotten to ride one before.

News about the Huslia trip will be posted later on this week.
