The state spelling bee took place this last weekend on the 26th of February in Fairbanks. Participant Creede Berg was happy to sit down with me and talk about his experience. He described it as exciting, riveting, as well as challenging. Around sixty-four people attended this event and many were all very articulate students. People came from all over to participate, as some were home-schooled and others were from Delta. Creede enjoyed himself though he got out when attempting to spell the word ‘tawny’, a word meaning brown. Though it was hard, Creede admits it was a good experience and that he had fun participating.
