Tok School recently had a family and REACH activity night for the Halloween season on the 24th of October. It was from 5:45 pm to 7:00 pm here at Tok School. There were lots of amusing activities there, such as carving pumpkins, having a bonfire with hot apple cider, playing glowing pumpkin volleyball in the gym, playing with pumpkin Play-Doh, and watching The Great Pumpkin movie!
Every month Tok School has a family activity night to bring the parents of the Tok students together, this month they decided to do the pumpkin extravaganza. “Tok School carries out family activity nights so that it can bridge the gap between home and school life,” said Vanessa West.
One of the hosts stated, “This year the event hosted 109 people, which was just a few more people than the previous year.” Deb Alsup, one of the event organizers, believes that the most successful activity was carving pumpkins. After all, who doesn’t like carving pumpkins?! She stated that they also had, “a bonfire and hot apple cider, glowing pumpkin volleyball in the gym, [...] pumpkin Play-Doh, a movie in the library, and pumpkin pie for dessert!” Ms. Alsup stated, “My personal favorite [event] was the bonfire outside.”
Rebekah Ames, a student who attended the FAN, stated that her favorite part about the pumpkin extravaganza was “eating pumpkin pie.” Kathryn Ames, another student who attended, said that her favorite part about that night was “playing volleyball with some of my friends.”
The Pumpkin Extravaganza family activity night this year seemed to be quite fun and popular. Tok School will be having another Family Activity Night. It will occur on November 14th, 2024, from 5:45 pm to 7:15 pm in the MPR. It is called the turkey bowl! Hope to see you there!
