This year's season was off to a great start with the games being right here at home. The boys and girls teams this year consist of players from Mentasta, Tok and Tetlin. The girls have played pretty well this season and have attended all games but 2. The boys have attended all games this season and have won every game this season besides losses to Ninilchik and Cordova.
In our annual Richard Fraiser tournament our boys placed first. The girls placed 4th in the tournament. During this tournament we also had our senior night. This season we had 4 senior girls and 4 senior boys: Shalauna Kaase, Kaitlyn Wilson, Desirae Constatine, Illiana Dibbler, Micheal Jordan, Micah David, Cody Charlie and Daniel Maynard. 3 out of our 8 seniors came out of Mentasta.
This year we had more home games than usual and our supporters showed out. This upcoming weekend will be our last tournament for the season. The varsity teams will attend Glennallen for regionals March 9th-11th. This season has been great, a big send off to our seniors in their last high school games and a huge thank you to Coach Diana and Coach Christy!
