Hockey Champs

Writer: Dawson NelsonDawson Nelson

On February 13-14 the Tok High School hockey team went to Anchorage and won the Championship. Kalvin Northway-Roach was the only Tok student on the team, so I interviewed him about the game.

The first question Kalvin answered was, how does it feel to win the Championship? He said, “Good, a little scuffed with the avalanche team, they had 18A players on 16B, which the last game the 18A players left and it was only the 16B players.” Then He talked about the tournament, “The tournament was fun, there was lots of ice time and I got better at playing my position.” Lastly he explained the game strategy, “How we won was pressure on the puck, and passing the puck to each other. When we did not work together or be quiet on the ice, is when we started to mess up.”

Kalvin is excited to go to the State Championships! Good luck Team!
