May 8th was the Tok School annual talent show! There were many fantastic performances. Not only did students perform, but staff also performed in the show.
I interviewed three participants: Winter Garber, Emma Talus, and Ryan Becker.
Winter was first. She sang “Brothers in Arms from the animated show Cuphead.” Winter said her favorite performance was, “ Cuphead [herself]!” Next she commented on her own performance with passion: “AWESOME!” Lastly, she simply answered, “no” when asked if she’d change anything about her performance.
Next was Emma Talus. She made “a painting of purple daisies with a bee on them.” She then added what improvements could have been made: ”I was going to make another bee and shade the sides some more.” Emma also talked about how she did on her art piece. “I think I did well because I won for my grade section.” Lastly, she said who her favorite performance was: “Liv and Sawyer’s makeup tutorial.”
Last but not least, Mr. Becker. He sang, “An Italian song called ‘Vittoria, mio core.’” When asked to critique his own performance, he said, ”If I could have sang at a lower key I would have.” Mr. Becker was excited to say who he thought was his favorite, “Everyone!” Finally, he talked about how he did during his performance. “I survived and I was happy with what I did.”
Overall, the talent show was a hit and everyone had fun. Everyone who entered had amazing talent and was rewarded with cake and pie. YUM! We can’t wait for next year's talent show!
